In partnership with Wiley, the IET have taken the decision to convert IET Science, Measurement & Technology from a library/subscriber pays model to an author-pays Open Access (OA) model effective from the 2021 volume, which comes into effect for all new submissions to the journal from now.

Whilst transitioning to OA as well as collaborating with a new publishing partner, IET Science, Measurement & Technology will also be migrating to a new electronic peer-review management system , using ScholarOne. The ScholarOne site is now open for all new submissions. Please note that any papers that have been submitted in the journal prior to 1 August 2020 will continue to run in ReView.

IET Science, Measurement & Technology publishes papers in science, engineering and technology underpinning electronic and electrical engineering, nanotechnology and medical instrumentation. The emphasis of the journal is on theory, simulation methodologies and measurement techniques. In 2016 Professor Jan Sykulski of the University of Southampton became the new Editor-in-Chief of IET Science, Measurement & Technology. In his Editorial for issue one, he discusses his history with the journal and the exciting future ahead following the appointment of a comprehensive board of Associate Editors and Tony Almeida as Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
