In 1947 it was decided to build a hydro-electric power station nearthe source of the White Nile, to make available an abundant supply of electricity for the encouragement of industry and the development of the mineral resources of Uganda.The paper describes the station, which is now in operation, the problems that have been encountered in the construction and operation of the system, and the development which is taking place.
