Transparent antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO)/epoxy nanocomposites, as glass thermal insulation coating, were prepared by incorporating ATO nanoparticles into a transparent epoxy matrix. The effect of ATO content on the optical and thermal insulation property of ATO/epoxy coating was studied. The results show that the ATO/epoxy coating with 1 wt% ATO has excellent optical properties, that is, visible light transmittance above 50% and shading coefficient of 0.54 are simultaneously achieved. In addition, the large temperature difference between the chambers coated respectively with the ATO/epoxy glass sheet and the common glass sheet indicates that the prepared ATO/epoxy nanocomposite coating has excellent thermal insulation property.
