access icon openaccess Gas flow characteristics analysis of SF6 circuit breaker using similarity theory

In this paper, the gas flow model of high voltage SF6 circuit breaker arc quenching chamber was established to analyse the nozzle high speed gas flow variation characteristics using finite volume method, and k-ɛ turbulent equation combined with the wall function was analysed. According to the similarity theory, the similarity criteria and the equivalent model for the arc quenching chamber was established and simulated for reflecting the aerodynamic behavior under cold gas flow interruption condition.
