The paper considers the bias in estimates of the frequency-response function of the forward element in linear, time-invariant feedback systems, subjected to a disturbance in the forward loop. A very simple criterion is developed which determines whether or not an estimate will be subjected to bias. This criterion is used to examine particular examples. Simulation results verify the main conclusion
