The concept of impulsive-mode controllablisability has been proposed. The criteria of impulsive-mode controllablisability are established in terms of the original system matrices. It is pointed out that the impulsive-mode controllablisability is the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of impulsive-mode eliminating proportional–derivative (PD) state feedback control. Therefore the conditions for impulsive-mode elimination via PD state feedback are really given.
