This paper starts by discussing the problem of the increasing inadequacy of traditional education systems and how the use of multimedia on the Internet can overcome it. It presents briefly the research at the Universite de Toulouse-Le Mirail on changes in teaching practices given the advancements in this area. The objectives, structure and functioning of the Nomad Teaching Site (Site d'Enseignement Nomade, or SEN) are then discussed. Finally, a vision of the teaching of tomorrow-the school in one's pocket-is presented.
