A half-ring folded-slot antenna with CPW-fed structure is presented. The antenna can operate in the 5.8 GHz band with a bandwidth of 26% (S11≤−10 dB) and gain of 2.9–3.3 dBi, while the size is just 16×15 mm. By simulation and test, the radiation pattern is almost omnidirectional in the H-plane. This antenna is suitable for radio frequency identification applications in the 5.8 GHz band.
