A triple-band, platform insensitive planar inverted-F antenna solution for radio frequency identification (RFID) is introduced. Triple-band operation is achieved with only two resonant elements exploiting the highly capacitive input impedance of the RFID microchips, leading to a small-sized structure. Owing to triple-band operation and platform insensitive impedance characteristics the antenna is applicable in many different environments and on different continents.
