An optical time delay line intended for optical beamforming networks with multibeam capability is proposed. The architecture is based on tunable notch filters and optical couplers to route the optical signal through different lengths of optical fibre. The architecture could be potentially integrated, reducing the cost and size of multibeam optical beamformers. Preliminary measurements to demonstrate the feasibility of the concept are provided.
