Evaluation tests are carried out on the direction finder, which has an aperture comprising four monopoles on the circumference of 0.4 λ. Radial bias function (RBF) neural network and a new post-processing procedure are used in the algorithm of DOA estimation. The estimation error was reduced to one-tenth that of MUSIC.

Inspec keywords: direction-of-arrival estimation; antenna arrays; radio direction-finding; radial basis function networks

Other keywords: post-processing procedure; MUSIC; direction finder; radial bias function; estimation error; RBF neural network; DOA estimation

Subjects: Neural nets (theory); Signal processing and detection; Radionavigation and direction finding; Signal processing theory; Antenna arrays
