Pseudo surface acoustic wave properties on (−74°)YX cut quartz have been calculated and measured. It was found that this cut belongs to the minimal diffraction cuts, and the reflection coefficient of a single aluminium electrode is about four times larger compared to that of the ST cut. Temperature compensation exists if, for a given aluminium layer thickness, a proper free surface length is used. This cut is free of spurious transverse modes.
