An investigation into the impact of mixed traffic on the UMTS terrestrial radio acccess performance is presented. The coexistence of services with different channel characteristics and traffic dynamics competing for the available resource will affect their individual throughput/delay performance. The overall system capacity will be limited by me service first reaching the QoS constraints. These effects are illustrated with a case study.
