A novel scheduling algorithm is proposed for the MAC (medium access control) protocol in wireless asynchronous transfer mode networks. The proposed algorithm has been demonstrated to be an effective means of implementing dynamic slot assignment without explicitly transmitting the dynamic parameters for the variable bit rate traffic.
