The authors have obtained, for the first time to their knowledge, pulse amplitude equalisation in a high repetition rate (up to 22.6 GHz) pulse train, which is generated from rational harmonic modelocking of an Er-doped fibre ring laser, by using an equalising fibre laser. The equalising fibre laser is based on a passively modelocked laser with an NALM (nonlinear amplifying loop mirror) and a Faraday rotating mirror.
