The authors propose a low complexity scheme for generating multiple bit-streams, each optimised for a different display resolution, from a single bit-stream stored in the image retrieval database. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the single bit-stream case significantly in terms of progression speed and bit-stream size.
