A novel microwave notch filter is reported which has a single-stage reflection topology. The identical RLC reflection terminations employ independent voltage controlled elements. As a result, the Q-factor and notch frequency can be varied. An experimental notch filter, tunable from 2 to 3.5 GHz, has been successfully realised using monolithic technology.
