A new family of acousto-optic tunable filters (AOTFs) based on collinear beam interaction on TeO2 are demonstrated. The sidelobes are suppressed by over 33 dB and the filters require very low RF drive power (20 mW) to operate.

Inspec keywords: acousto-optical switches; wavelength division multiplexing; circuit tuning; acousto-optical filters

Other keywords: sidelobe free; acousto-optic tunable filters; TeO2; RF drive power; 20 mW; acousto-optic tunable switches; collinear beam interaction

Subjects: Optical communication; Optical coatings and filters; Acousto-optical devices
