For the first time it is shown that bright temporal solitons as well as spatiotemporal solitary waves (light bullets) may exist in semiconductor waveguides provided that the large normal material dispersion is overcompensated for by the dispersion of a properly tailored waveguide. Soliton switching in a nonlinear directional coupler without pulse break-up is predicted.
