A new pulse shaping pair [exp(jπt/T)uT(t), exp(–jπt/(T)uT(t)] for Q2PSK is proposed, where UT(t) is a rectangular pulse shaping function with symbol duration T. With this pulse shaping pair the performance of (Q2DPSK. is identical for both pulses and is less affected by the multipath time-delay (td) and the transmitter filter in the satellite mobile channel (SMC) than that with the sinusoidal pulse shaping pair [cos(πt/T)uT(t), sin(πt/T)uT(t)] of the original Q2DPSK.
