A blind Bayesian decision feedback equaliser is derived for joint channel and data estimation. The nature of this algorithm leads to an efficient parallel implementation. Convergence can be achieved in less than 50 symbols when a binary symbol constellation is used.

Inspec keywords: equalisers; digital communication systems; feedback; parallel algorithms; decision theory; Bayes methods

Other keywords: Bayesian decision feedback equaliser; joint channel/data estimation; fast blind equalisation; binary symbol constellation; parallel implementation

Subjects: Other topics in statistics; Signal processing and detection
