Optical sensor matrix networks offer a greater number of sensors in a network than is possible with a sensor network that uses a single optical source and detector. The Letter reports the successful operation of an optical sensor matrix network using a single optical source, a spatial light modulator(SLM), and N receivers where N is the matrix order. The average signal to noise ratio (SNR) was measured to be 66 dB in a 60 Hz bandwidth and the average crosstalk level was less than −67 dB.
