A method for rapidly extracting features characteristic of the modulation carried by an individual radar pulse is proposed. It is based on the sparse estimation of the autocorrelation function of a quadrature sampled signal. The proposed method is suitable for very high speed implementation and its potential is illustrated by computer simulation.
