A three-pole coupled resonator filter (CRF) based on the simultaneous excitation of surface skimming bulk waves (SSBW) and Bleustein-Gulyaev waves (BGW) with the same magnitude is described. This device operates at 1 GHz, has an insertion loss of 3–4 dB, a typical 1 dB bandwidth of 0.15% and can dissipate a power of more than 2W on a quartz substrate area of 3 mm2.
