Waveguide lasers have been fabricated by potassium ionexchange in neodymium-doped BK-7 glass. Lasers operating at λ = 1058 nm in a single-transverse-mode at both pump and lasing wavelengths showed launched-power thresholds as low as 7.5 mW.
