A simple model for ionospheric electron concentration based on continuous multiparabolic regions, is extended to model the Fl-layer L-condition. Virtual height curves generated using the extended model are compared with observed ordinary ray data. Agreement is found to be reasonable. The model warrants further investigation to determine its suitability in certain HF communications analyses.
