Numerical simulation based on the finite-element method is made for guided-wave second-harmonic generation (SHG) devices utilising the Cerenkov radiation of light into the substrate. Numerical results for quantities such as the optimum guide thickness, generated power and radiation direction are in good agreement with experimental results.
