Surface acoustic wave (SAW) Bragg modulators yield high optical and electrical bandwidth. The Bragg modulator consists of tapered monomode waveguides and the SAW field in between. Overall suppression of unwanted frequencies of better than 30dB (TM) and 20dB (TE) are obtained.
