We report a stable, coherent, single spatial and single longitudinal mode phase-locked 8-element CSP array operating in the diffraction limit with a phase front aberration of <λ/50. Both theoretical modelling and experimental observation indicate that the single out-of-phase coherent array mode is strongly preferred.
