Fibre strain induced during heat cycle in liquid-crystal polyester-jacket optical fibre
The fibre strain change for an oriented liquid-crystal polyester-jacket optical fibre has been examined over the temperature range 20 to 120°C. Because of the low linear expansion coefficient and the absence of orientation release, the fibre strain change during the heat cycle is very slight, and accordingly no microbending loss is induced.
