The capacitance and inductance of the open microstrip line are found in explicit form for narrow and wide microstrips and for very large substrate permittivity. For an arbitrary width, the integral equation is transformed into an infinite set of algebraic equations, which can be handled by computer. Hence the effective relative permittivity at low frequencies can be found.
