For interactive computer graphics, high-contrast storage displays with selective erasure are desirable. In this letter, a high-contrast storage display is proposed, using a bromide-sodalite phosphor in the thermal-erase mode. In this mode, the writing area is coloured completely, and visual images are obtained by selective thermal erasure of the coloured area using the electron beam at a higher excitation level. Selective diagram erasure is obtained by recolouring the required written areas on the display diagram.
