Plant sequence controllers which employ integrated-circuit memory devices are often prone to malfunctioning in the presence of electrical noise. To avoid this problem, a technique is proposed whereby only the combinational-logic parts of the controller are realised in integrated-circuit form, the memory function of the system being provided by the mechanical actustors.
