In many publications on the resonant absorption of microwave phonons in y.i.g. rods, a comparison is made between theory and experiment without accounting for the difference between the angle defined by the rod axis and the magnetic-bias direction and the angle defined by the rod axis and the internal magnetic-field direction. The letter shows that a simplified model, which accounts for such a difference, leads to theoretical results which are in better agreement with experiment.
