Frequency tuning of an IMPATT coaxial microwave oscillator, using variation of susceptibility of a 5 Oe linewidth y.i.g. sphere, is described. A deviation sensitivity of 2MHz/Oe is determined experimentally. Qualitative explanation is offered for the discrepancy between this value and the theoretically predicted sensitivity.
