We present several results concerning a monotron oscillator with a superconducting cavity. After a comparison between results and theory about starting current, beam-loading conductance and conversion power efficiency, we give a record of oscillator frequency over a period of 15 min. We find a frequency stabilityσ(<ϕ̇>t, τ)/2πF = 5 × 10−10 with τ = 1sfor a microwave output power of 35 mW at 2.976GHz
