%X How dynamic ranges (DRs) of single stages are combined together in a sensor acquisition chain are shown. This is a key feature in sensor design, since it shows a simple way to understand how and where the DR has been enhanced or deteriorated along the chain. The relationship devised is applicable to any kind of transducing processes such as the mechanical one as implemented by micro- and nano-electro-mechanical devices.
