A wideband TEM horn antenna with a multi-pole band notch characteristic is reported. From measured results, it is observed that the bandwidth of the TEM horn antenna is more than 2 octaves, from 1 to 5 GHz and has a notch close to 3.5 GHz. The peak value of gain suppression, in H-plane, is more than 30 dB. The measured gain curve for the forward direction shows that the performance is the same as that of a wideband antenna combined with a two-pole band notch filter.
