An effective selected mapping (SLM) based method without requiring side information for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is presented. For the proposed method, a specific set of phase sequences is designed. Simulation results show that the proposed method provides almost the same peak-to-average power ratio reduction performance, compared to the conventional SLM method requiring side information.
