A sleeve monopole antenna is proposed, which can generate a wide operating band to cover the DVB-H band in the UHF frequency band. The proposed antenna is composed of a circular patch and a disc-conical sleeve, both of which are shorted to the ground plane through four shorting probes. With an antenna thickness of about 0.1 times the free-space wavelength of the centre operating frequency, the proposed antenna can achieve an impedance bandwidth of about 50% for VSWR≤2 ranging from 446 to 732 MHz and produce a monopole-like conical radiation pattern.
