A WiMedia-compliant MB-OFDM UWB transmission system is demonstrated, using low-cost transceivers, over up to 50 m long Ø1 mm PMMA graded-index plastic optical fibre. UWB signal is downconverted to intermediate frequency and transmitted over graded-index plate optical fibre with an overall error vector magnitude penalty <7 dB.
