To meet the increasing capacity and mobility as well as decrease the costs in next-generation optical access networks, RoF technology is a promising technique in the emerging optical and wireless convergence network, mm-wave generation is a key technique to realize the convergence network. In this paper, existing optical mm-wave generation technologies are introduced, including direct modulation, optical heterodyning and external modulation. Associated with Shanghai University, a scheme based on Optical Frequency Multiplication employing a dual drive Mach-Zehnder Modulator (DD-MZM) is presented. The novel efficient technique does not require expensive high-frequency electrical equipment. Moreover, no optical filtering is used, which significantly reduces the cost.

We propose a so-called combined multi-stage minimum mean-square error (MSMMSE-ML MUD) in the underdetermined MIMO systems communicating over Gaussian fading channels. In a MIMO system with M transmitting antennas, after multi-stage MMSE detection is operated for the first (M-T) users, ML detection is executed for the last T users, where the parameter T is adopted to adjust the detection complexity of the last users. Considering an underdetermined MIMO system communicating over Gaussian fading channels, simulation results shows that the proposed method has a higher BER performance than the MSMMSE operated in the system.

As a primary way of data transmission in a large variety of cognitive radio systems, Non-Contiguous Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (NC- OFDM) is a specialized OFDM with non-contiguous sub-carriers. In general, an OFDM system is required to be strictly synchronized. However, one of the huge challenges is the synchronization for NC-OFDM because of the non-contiguous and unevenly distributed sub-carriers of uncertain number in the NC- OFDM. In this paper, we proposed an adaptive synchronization algorithm for NC-OFDM system. In the new scheme, the training sequence is produced adaptively from detected available sub-carriers, and timing metric for synchronization is determined by PN-modulation of the training sequence. The algorithm compensates the frequency offset due to the multi-path channel effect, and yields a single peak on timing metric. A satisfactory performance with regard to estimation on the timing and frequency offset, and to the bit error rate (BER) is shown by simulation.

This paper describes the MIMO technology, cognitive radio technology as well as orthogonal space-time block codes. To take full advantages of these three techniques, we eventually combine them to form a new program. The cognitive link and the main link of MIMO system can be set multiple antennas. In the cognitive system, cognitive users can use the authorized free frequency band, thereby enhancing the utilization of spectrum resources, and the estimated channel information will be used for channel decoding. The orthogonal space-time block codes in MIMO system can provide multiple transmit/receive antennas' full diversity gain, minimizing the impact of multi- path fading and gaining better BER performance, increasing the digital transmission rate at the same time. Simulation results show that the cognitive radio communication system based on MIMO OSTBC has significantly improved the signal to noise ratio in comparison to normal un-coded system.

Based on the introduction of developments of LXI instruments, LXI instrument synchronization problem and triggering principle of IEEE1588, the causes of the synchronization are analyzed. A new synchronization algorithm of frequency compensation is proposed. The algorithm is effective in dynamic compensation. It is suggested that the algorithm should be implemented with FPGA device. With Quatus II, the dynamic compensation of the local clock is simulated and its validation is proved in the experiments. Finally the hardware implement of the whole system scheme with the dynamic compensation algorithm is proposed.

Comparing with single-view learning algorithm, multi-view learning algorithm has more powerful classification performance. However, multi-view learning algorithm needs multiple source patterns. Features of those multiple source information must satisfy with some independent conditions. In most real world case, it is easier for us to gain single source patterns. So it will be necessary for us to design multi-view learning algorithms that are on the basis of single source patterns. In our previous research, we proposed a multi-view learning algorithm which is named MultiV-MHKS and found that MultiV-MHKS can efficiently improve the recognition rate in multi-view learning. In the paper, on the basis of MultiV-MHKS, we propose a novel classification method named MultiV-TMHKS, which adopts the tabularized data technique to matrixize single source patterns. By this multiviewization approach we can gain different kinds of matrixes that are used in different views and then design proper sub-classifiers in corresponding views. We come up with a new matrixizing method for multiple view learning which is based on single source patterns.

In this paper, we consider the resource allocation problem of cooperative spectrum sharing among multiple primary users (PUs) and multiple secondary users (SUs), where the PUs lease their spectrum to the SUs in a time-division manner while the SUs in return help the data transmission of the PUs by relaying. The PU's strategy is to decide a proper fraction of spectrum leasing time to SUs for maximizing its payoff, while the SU's strategy is to decide the proper power for relaying PUs' traffic, and for transmitting its own data so as to satisfy its payoff. We formulate the problem as a coalitional game with transferable utility (TU), and propose an algorithm to show the game converges to the solution concept (the core). We also show that the grand coalition formed by grouping all PUs and SUs is stable. Finally, we demonstrate in simulations the benefits of our proposed approach comparing to other approaches of power control.

In the surgical operation, the catheter can be used to collect the point clouds data and do the ablation operation. Then we can get the three-dimensional heart reconstruction model from point clouds using the surface reconstruction algorithm in visualization system. Usually, the heart model is displayed opaquely in the visualization window and light can not go through the object. So doctors could hardly see the location of the catheter inside the model in real-time system. In addition, sometimes doctors have to observe the internal structure and the interested region in the model for clinical diagnosis and analysis. Therefore, it is necessary for us to do the transparency to meet the doctor requirement. Transparency can be generally divided into overall transparency and local transparency. Sometimes it is difficult for doctor to recognize the relative position between the catheter and the model surface from the overall transparency. Allowing for this reason, in this paper, we not only introduce the overall transparency, but also propose two ways to deal with the interest region transparency. All the methods are implemented on VTK platform.

The employment of Distributed Coordination Function has caused a waste of bandwidth and time, which leading to unsatisfactory network performance of wireless LANs. In our proposed mechanism, access points (APs) are used for determining which terminal to transmit a frame according to a sorted node list, which avoids the collision and backoff. To guarantee the practicality of the proposed mechanism, changes are only made to APs while all terminals act in the same way as in existing mechanism. The realization is through flexible use and modification of some control and management frames. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism can improve network performance of throughput and delay.

The present complicated heterogeneous network environment is resulted from coexisting of many radio access networks. A very important issue is how to select mutually for users and networks under this condition to maximize each profit. The existed researches mainly analyzed in two angles, one is how to select an efficient and suitable network to access from the point of view of users, the other is how to select users to maximize the profit of the networks from the point of view of networks. However the analysis from either of those angles do not consider enough about mutual selection between users and networks, which may lead to sacrifice one's profit to get another one's optimization. A game theoretical approach of the network selection algorithm is proposed, in which the different requirements and targets of users and networks are considered synthetically. The approach guarantees the profit of both sides through obtaining stable matching by a matching game between users and networks. The simulation results show that the algorithm improves the satisfaction degree of networks/users compared with the algorithms based on user/network decision. Furthermore, the trade-off between the satisfaction degree of users and networks can be reached.

Diversity techniques have long been used to combat the channel fading in wireless communications systems. Recently cooperative communications has attracted lot of attention due to many benefits it offers. Thus co operative routing protocols with diversity transmission can be developed to exploit the random nature of the wireless channels to improve the network efficiency by selecting multiple cooperative nodes to forward data. In this paper we analyze and evaluate the performance of a novel routing protocol with multiple cooperative nodes which share multiple channels. Multiple shared channels cooperative (MSCC) routing protocol achieves diversity advantage by using cooperative transmission. It unites clustering hierarchy with a bandwidth reuse scheme to mitigate the co-channel interference. Theoretical analysis of average packet reception rate and net work throughput of the MSCC protocol are presented and compared with simulated results.
