Servo motors are small and efficient, critically used in industrial applications requiring precise position control. The fractional order controllers have the potential to improve the control performances and increase the system robustness. This paper proposes a new approach to control the position of a modular servo system dealing with design flexibility of FO controllers using concepts of fractional calculus and their implementation in motion control system.
