The power rating of the Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) system deployed in outdoor conditions is mainly dependent on the variation in the environmental parameters which affect the quality and quantity of the insolation. Therefore, it is required to understand in detail the behaviour of daily insolation and its influences on the power rating of the SPV system to emulate accurate planning for the establishment of solar power plants and their performance. The angle of incidence (AOI) is an important climatological parameter apart from air mass (AM). Performance evaluation of three different technologies PV modules has been evaluated for the standard solar spectrum parameters, i.e., a different angle of incidence (AOI) values available under Eastern Indian climatic conditions. It is seen that the poly-Si PV modules record consistently higher amounts of fill-factor (FF) and performance ratio (PR) with to mono-Si and a-Si modules during the winter and summer season. This guideline is a significant milestone in PV deployment and manufacturing in this part of the sub-continent. This study or analysis can be extended to other parts of India and other parts of the world to find out the appropriate solar PV Technology for PV plants, giving the maximum throughput around the year.
