This paper proposes an low probability of intercept (LPI)-based adaptive waveform selection strategy for phased array radar system with passive sensor cooperation. The trace of estimated value of the error covariance matrix is utilized to be the accuracy metric for target tracking. The primary objective of the proposed LPI-based adaptive waveform selection strategy is to reduce the radiation times of phased array radar system by jointly optimizing the revisit interval and waveform parameters, which is constrained by a predetermined target tracking accuracy threshold. Several numerical results are provided to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed waveform selection strategy in terms of the LPI performance of phased array radar system.
