With the increase of airport throughput and the continuous improvement of environmental protection requirements, the fuel consumption, pollutant emissions and large-scale flight delays have become three major problems affecting the development of civil aviation in China. The green electric taxiing system enables the aircraft to achieve a more flexible, energy-efficient and eco-friendly ground movement by replacing the aircraft's main engine-driven taxiing. This paper analyses the contribution of reducing fuel consumption and pollutant emissions, shortening aircraft delays and improving the punctuality rate by adopting green electric taxiing technology for civil aircrafts in China's airports. The results show that green electric taxiing technology is an effective way to reduce airport pollution, improve on-time rates of aircraft, and achieve more environmentally friendly flights in China.
