This presentation provides background on the Inmarsat-4 satellites and BGAN system operation, and emerging IP multicast and 3GPP MBMS technologies. The presentation outlines some of the issues associated with operation of MBMS across mobile satellite systems, and presents the solution to these issues that Inmarsat have developed within a collaborative project supported by ESA under ARTES-3.
