The DVB project is an alliance of about 250-300 companies, originally of European origin but now worldwide. Its objective is to agree specifications for digital media delivery systems, including broadcasting. This paper is aimed at stimulating some thoughts on how DVB derived standards and services will evolve in the future, with a bias towards satellite delivered services.
