This paper provides an end-to-end solution for robust transmission of H.264 video stream over wireless IP network. On the decoder side, directional weighted spatial concealment with estimated edge direction and subblock-based motion compensated temporal concealment with weighted boundary match are employed to improve texture continuity. On the encoder side, a global rate-distortion optimization is proposed with three-state Markov channel model and drift-aware pixel-level recursive estimation of channel distortion. Simulations demonstrate the considerable improvements of image quality.
