Computer aid-design of the modular fixture reduces the dependent on the assembling-workers' experiences and ensures the success of assembly once, contrasting to the previous traditional manual work way. However, there are still some questions such as how to exchange the information and data among element drawings, element stocks and assembling modular fixture drawings are nebulous and etc. For lack of thinking of the element stock number, even though the modular fixture is designed, it cannot be used in manufacture immediately. This situation limits the application of modular fixture in plants. A virtual modular fixture station is put forward in the paper. It unites the manufacture, users, owner and designers of the modular fixture on network. It not only realizes the scientific management of the information of the elements and fixture but also improves the efficient of the design and shortens the period of the manufacture. The first section of the paper highlights the mode of the virtual modular fixture station as a collaborative management platform. The second section introduces the system frame and realization. Finally, the main functions of the system are addressed.
